As the county seat, Linneus is served by the Linn County Sheriff’s
Office, which is here in town and covers all 621 square miles of the county.

aid agreements with the counties around us.

For water problems, outages, trash, or other city utility and maintenance issues, call the City Office at (660) 895-5133. The city’s Utility Superintendent, Duane “Shorty” Davis, looks after the water, sewer and electric systems and is reached through the office. See the Town Government page for utilities and billing.

Brookfield — the nearest hospital, about 8 miles away.

A 25-bed critical access hospital owned by the City of Chillicothe and run by Saint
Luke’s Health System, with a 24-hour emergency department, a
maternity unit, surgery and an ICU.

Brookfield is the closest town of any size and where most errands end up — the
hospital, the ambulance district, and most shopping. Marceline and Chillicothe are the
next ones out.
Marceline had a hospital once,
St. Francis, but it has not operated as one for many years.
